Welcome New Members
Approval of Minutes -April 2025
Update from the Board
Fifth Street location - will no longer be available due to an earlier relocation date for Gatesco. Gary Gates will be putting the building up for sale or lease in approximately 3 months. There is a large printer that Missy Gates has offered for the Art League to use and a large tent that we are storing there. A motion was made by Bobbie to donate the tent to the City of Rosenberg, seconded by Linda, motion carried.
The Board is scheduling a planning retreat - date TBA
A big thank you to the Imperial Arts Alliance for the generous donation of $3740 and to Claudia Diaz’ father in law for donating $500.
Safety policy was discussed to address appropriate responses to shop lifters, police issues, medical and fire. Kathy will draft one.
Alexa speakers are in both locations, Travis will send out instructions to Gallery workers.
Committee for Special Exhibits - need to meet to iron out details.
Members who have expressed and interest include Vivian Ho, Eugenia Garcia, and Grace Haggerty. Travis is looking for ideas, maybe a membership challenge.
Looking for an Events Chair.
Newsletter - Natalie Peterson volunteered to take over the newsletter, Thank you to Bobbie for getting it out for this month..
Pot Luck Meet and Greet Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, June 16th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Fereshteh is bringing Iced coffee and tea.

Profit and Loss shows $3301 profit which includes donations from IAA for $3740 and Al Diaz for $500.

Intercom System - Travis presented an option for $150 for six units. Motion by Brenda, seconded by Linda to purchase from Amazon, motion carried.
Committee Reports
Art Shows and Workshops - Debbie Rodriguez
Education Committee - Bobbie Davis
Working on expanding classroom space. Teachers can set up tables with examples of their classes during the swap and share at the July General Member meeting.
Community Display - Brenda Bowman
Attack Poverty June 4th, Civic Center - June 12th, SL Air end of June, FB Museum 8/18. Those helping for 5 hrs get credit in Team Up. Discussed adding local hotels.
Fundraising - Brenda Bowman
2 donor plaques ordered, one for Occusoft and one for IAA.
HOT funds application will be due in September.
Events Pot Luck Meet and Greet Sat June 21 at 9:30
Gallery - Fereshteh Solati
Would like to hang an ALFB sign above the door to studio H.
Checking on permission to remove carpets in the Gallery.
3D display space was discussed.
Holiday hrs discussed: closed New Years Day, Easter Sunday, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
Discussed changing from Team Up to the web site where we could limit the number of workers that can sign up on one day.
Next changeout will be the second week in July.
LSAG - Brenda Bowman
Recap of LSAG meeting - The new 3D rules have been adopted. show dates chosen, and election of officers was held. In person show was discussed possibly for 2026. Need league participation - 10 volunteers from each league. A steering committee is being formed with two representatives from each of the 12 member leagues,

Chamber has a map coming out soon and we are on it.
Ads in Newcomer magazine and ads for Kids’ Camp
Travis asked for permission to boost some posts and is researching digital billboards.

Updated directory is still being worked out.

RAA next member meeting Thursday, May 29th at 5:30 at Another Time Soda Fountain.

The teachers are getting notified when they have students sign up on line for their classes.
