General Meeting Minutes
Monday, April 27, 2026
Call to order - Linda Pietz, President
Welcome New Members
New studio artist, Teo, attended meeting today and introduced himself.Fereshteh mentioned others have also joined, but none were in attendance at today’s meeting.

Linda said that board minutes are now posted on the website.
New sliding door was installed today, and it will be rekeyed or if not, Gladys will get keys made.
Black Bear Diner in Sugar Land - Our fundraiser is scheduled for all day Tuesday, May 5, and 20% of the day’s sales will go to our art league! Make sure to have breakfast, lunch and dinner that day at the diner and bring your gang.We can do this again in six months; may try the Katy location next time.

Great Spring show.Those winners of first, second and third place are eligible to enter art in LSAG.

Art Shows and Workshops
Esther Delaquis Printmaking Workshop – May 18, 2026
Vie Dunn-Har Watercolor Collage Workshop – June 29 – July 1, 2026; price of workshop has been reduced.Can use acrylics instead of watercolor if you prefer.
Luanne Rimel Fabric Collage Workshop – October 18 – 20, 2026 – meditative stitches.She’s an excellent teacher.
Education Committee - Jillian Haberman
Diane donated stuff from estate sale to include for summer camp.
First Wednesday of month from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. there will be life drawing/painting for $15 led by Carolyn Hancock and Jen Gawrys. First session will be May 6.Jules will be model for this session.
Community Display - Brenda Bowman – did not attend.
Sugar Land Airport
Art to be displayed from August to December.
Fort Bend Museum
Art will be displayed in the Cottage from May 14-July 6. FB Museum would like to host a reception for our artists on May 22, 6-8 pm. There is no theme for this exhibit. 3-D is welcome.
Attack Poverty
Linda mentioned that the board had decided not to display there anymore. No sales have come from this location.
Rosenberg Civic Center
Change out TBD.
Events - LaDonna Stubbs – didn’t attend meeting.
Fundraising – Open position
We are still looking for Fundraising board member or anyone that would like to help on a committee or in a smaller role or project.Contact Diane Whitmarsh or Brenda Bowman for specific questions about Fundraising.
Gallery – Fereshteh Solati
Featured artist of the month is Ingrid Baptiste, May 16.Please support the event.
Asking everyone to bring snacks for featured artist event.Fereshteh will send around spreadsheet for people to sign up to bring food.
Teo mentioned that he would do a Rosenberg Jazz festival in the future.
Check the Artwork price – had an issue because there was price on piece of art, but price was changed after spring show.Customer had an issue because wanted to purchase art at original price, so Fereshteh negotiated and purchase was finalized.
Three spaces on gallery walls are available. One is for new artist recently joined and now two spaces are available. Whoever is interested to have second spot needs to pay $30 ($10 each month) for this rotation from April to June.
5th street paintings are available for donation of $15 or more.Karen Gehse has instructions at the desk on how to enter payment for these.
Quilt show is July 10th & 11th at Stafford Center in Cash Road.Volunteers needed with a truck to take panels.
Quilt Show in our gallery is August 12 – 23.
Quilt folks have purchased multiple pieces of art from ALFB.
Outside the Box event July 27 for two weeks, $5 entry fee for members and $10 for nonmembers.Fee is per person, not per piece of art.There will be a judge and also prizes for winners.Have your artwork ready by July 15.Wood boxes only.
Team up sign up in advance please – we need people to work in May.
Linda mentioned a cool idea for the future – a rolling gallery truck that can be fitted with artwork and driven to different locations.
LSAG – Brenda Bowman – didn’t attend meeting.
June 11 – 13 Event and sign up is open.
Gift Shop - Jules Fuchs
Moved furniture all around including the desk, which wouldn’t work in the other corner after all.Working on glare issue.In May, Jules will send email on when things will be moved around.Artists can bring items to sell early.Items are in the shop for three months and then moved so something new can be displayed.Card/magnet displays – you can fill these up with items to sell.
Marketing – Travis Lairson - didn’t attend meeting.
Membership – Open position
Diane mentioned that if anyone is interested in working on membership committee or fund committee to let her know.
Rosenberg - Kathy Golden
City Events:
Cinco de Mayo - Tuesday, May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Gallery will not be open after 5 p.m., but Kathy will open the gallery at 11:00 a.m. for a busload of people who will be coming by.Debbie Rose will open the gift shop at the same time.Teo mentioned he would play music.
Fall Fest – Saturday, October 17 from 2 – 6 p.m.
Boogeyman Bash – Saturday, October 31 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Hometown Holiday – Saturday, December 5 from 12 – 8 p.m.
Rosenberg Arts Alliance events:
RAA is planning to have a Rosenberg monopoly game, and our gallery/gift shop will be on the board. $150 for each store to participate.Five games will be given to each storefront that can be sold for $20 each, so $300 outlay and will get $200 back.Kathy is going to check to see if we can purchase additional games as well.
Kathy said thanks to Tom Travis for picking up the new art display case since Don is out of commission right now.
Ride to Rosenberg Car Show – Saturday, September 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Artists – bring in any of your car-related art to display!Streets will be blocked but gallery parking lot will be open.
Holiday Nights – Thursdays, December 10 and 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Diane mentioned that the calendar on the website is up to date.
Gladys said that the Membership Director role on the website needs to be updated.
Jillian is collecting supplies for the Delaquis event except for Lino blocks.When you register for the event, you will receive a list of supplies needed.
Also, in May we will be adding three new classes and on May 16, first Jewelry Jammer class will be held.
