General Meeting Minutes
Monday, May 18, 2026
Call to order and Prayer – at 1:04 p.m. by Linda Pietz, President
Welcome New Members – Darren – metal artist.
Approval of Minutes – April 2026 – motion by Kathy; seconded by Jillian and motion carried.

The 2025 Spring Show registration was $3,027. This year is $1,336 lower.
Art Camp Income in April $1,825
There were no out of the ordinary expenses.

Summer camp – over 11 students; one scholarship done and one is still available.
Unfinished Business
Working on getting Board minutes posted on the website.
New sliding door - limited number of keys – can use other doors as entry.
Black Bear Diner profit was $189; looking at other avenues for future donations including Black Bear Diner in Katy.
New Business
Amazon Wish List – Members can donate to pay for items on the wish list for the ALFB. Check with Debbie Rose to get items on list – be specific and also send her link to the item.Jillian will also send a link.
Twice a year swap meet in Spring and Fall – Jillian knows someone who could host this for us.
Paper towel use – large Costco purchase of paper towels is missing.Bring your own supplies.Power towels should only be used to clean hands and clean up around the gallery/gift shop.
Linda approved Don ordering new light kit for jewelry case since the light kit is missing.

Art Shows and Workshops
Brenda is doing a great job setting up workshops and she mentioned that she will provide this service to us until end of 2026.
Esther Delaquis Printmaking Workshop – TODAY! May 18, 2026
Vie Dunn-Har Water Collage Workshop – June 29 – July 1, 2026; price of workshop has been reduced.
Luanne Rimel Workshop – October 18 – 20, 2026
Education Committee - Jillian Haberman
Jillian is keeping classes and events up to date on the website.
Bead group meetings have been postponed.Need a second host.Will start in Fall – free event.
Possible Eve group – faith and creativity focus on prayer and art.Jillian is looking for someone to lead this.
Eugenia has set up two classes – one in afternoon, $15, art journaling and a second session in evening.Also created Saturday afternoon class once a month for 9–12-year-olds starting in June for Mom’s Day out.
Singing Bull class - sound bath medication class will be on Wednesday at the end of June and hosted by Jillian’s friend, Penelope.8 slots left.$15.
Summer camp – Don’t wait until the last minute to sign your kids up for this. Classes are filling up!Open to age 9 and older. Great job, Eugenia, on all your hard work for the summer camp!Also, artists, you can volunteer to help the teachers and work on the projects as well.Summer camp is third week in June and third week in July.
Jillian discussed how to access ALFB events section of website through smart phones.
Community Display - Brenda Bowman
Thanks so much to Jillian for setting up the events calendar on the website and maintaining this!
Sugar Land Airport
Art to be displayed from August to December.
Fort Bend Museum
Art will be displayed in the Cottage from May 14-July 6. There is no theme for this exhibit. 3-D is welcome.
Attack Poverty

Events - LaDonna Stubbs - not at meeting.
Featured artist this month is Ingrid and we had a nice reception for her last Saturday.Teo provided some great music.
Fundraising – Open position
We are still looking for Fundraising board member or anyone that would like to help on a committee or in a smaller role or project.Contact Diane Whitmarsh or Brenda Bowman for specific questions about Fundraising.will be writing grants for us.
We will be voting for new board members this Fall.Karen will run again as Treasurer.Gallery Director and President roles are both open for next year.
Gallery – Fereshteh Solati
Featured artist for June will be Carolyn Hancock.Sparkle Sisters are paying for food for the monthly featured artist events.
Quilt show is July 10th & 11th at Stafford Center in Cash Road.Quilters are making quilts from art pieces that inspired them from the ALFB.They will provide us with a table at this event to put out league materials.
Outside of the Box event July 27th, $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.Fereshteh has cigar boxes that can be decorated for this event and Joseph’s also has free cigar boxes.We will have a judge for this event.
New LED lights in the restroom.Be sure to turn off lights and fans when exiting the restrooms.Fans could be a fire hazard if left on for extended period of time.
Quilt Show will leave Stafford Center and come to our gallery in August.
Team up - Sign up in advance please.We are having a problem because people are not signing up to work.If you have artwork in gallery you need to work two times a month or get a volunteer or we must remove your artwork from the wall. If you have artwork displayed in gift shop, you only need to work once a month.You don’t need to work a third day if you have artwork in both the gallery and the gift shop.
LSAG – Brenda Bowman
June 11 – 13 Event with three days of demos.She will leave the schedule of the demos on the desk.Eugenia is doing a demo. May 24 is last day to sign up to participate.Stephanie Clark sent email to winners of Spring show in case they want to participate in LSAG, which will be at Lone Star College in Tomball.If you want to volunteer, check out volunteer sheet for open slots.Can volunteer for even an hour or so.Call Donna Rogers to volunteer.Debbie Rodriguez offered to take other artists’ artwork to LSAG if artist can’t make it.Brenda is also taking art.Brenda is LSAG secretary.
Gift Shop - Jules Fuchs
Jules received approval from the board to update gift shop with two displays.Jules is at the shop on Tuesdays if you want to drop off artwork to sell.
Marketing – Travis Lairson – not at meeting,
Membership – Linda reminded us that this position is open.
Rosenberg - Kathy Golden
RAA - next meeting is Thursday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Another Time Soda Shop and there will be food.Come by and see what’s going on in Rosenberg. RAA also has website with an events calendar, and it also tells what the merchants are doing.
City Events:
Fall Fest – Saturday, October 17 from 2 – 6 p.m.
Boogeyman Bash – Saturday, October 31 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Hometown Holiday – Saturday, December 5 from 12 – 8 p.m.
Rosenberg Arts Alliance events:
Ride to Rosenberg Car Show – Saturday, September 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Artists, please consider displaying car-themed artwork in the gallery on this date.Jillian suggested doing a show in the gallery.Don mentioned that there weren’t a lot of sales for the folks who had tables set up outside the gallery.
Holiday Nights – Thursdays, December 10 and 17 from 5 to 8:00 p.m.

Linda said that we will be updating the website. Jillian is assisting with this.Linda is also looking for someone who can take over the communications piece for the league.
Miscellaneous
Mary Lynch has a Canon Pro 2600 printer for sale.Printer is large so you would need to have table for it.$2600 or best offer.Please contact Mary Lynch or Don if interested.
Jillian is setting up the next demo, and it will be Carol Benford from the Pacific Northwest.This will be workshop on ocean waves.
