General Meeting Minutes

Monday, March 23, 2026

Call to order – 10:00 a.m., Debbie Rose, Vice President

Welcome New Members – Juan Rosario has been a member for a year but first time at meeting. He is a silversmith. Susan Stacy is a returning member.

Approval of Minutes for February 2026. Approval motion by Kathy and seconded by Gladys and motion carried.

Stafford Center July 10-11 - combined exhibit with Prairie Coastal Quilt Guild

Gift Shop Manager – Jules taking over.

Sliding door – new slider door has been ordered but we don’t have installation date yet.

Sales were good—Total Gallery & Gift Shop sales = $3,568, which includes $1,655 in jewelry sales.

This time of the year we’re collecting Membership renewals and Gallery fees.

Black Bear Diner in Sugar Land - Our fundraiser is scheduled for all day Tuesday, May 5, and 20% of the day’s sales will go to our art league! Make sure to have breakfast, lunch and dinner that day at the diner and bring your gang.

ALFB Spring Show April 11, 2026 – Sponsors are needed.

Vie Dunn-Har Workshop – June 29 – July 1, 2026

Education Committee - Jillian Haberman

First Fiber Friends meeting was held and it was fun.

Working on two new items for May – Life drawing class with $15 cost and human model, starting in May and a Beading jewelry gathering, which is a free event. Debbie and Michelle are working on this.

May 18 – Esther Delaquis will do a demo and a workshop on printmaking after the general meeting – cost for workshop is $65.

because it will fill up quickly..There are volunteer spaces available.

Jillian has events calendar on the FB website – shows all classes, etc.

April 2 but she will return in the Fall. In the meantime, working on recorded session to use on Thursdays for the interim.

Community Display - Brenda Bowman

Vie Dunn-Har watercolor collage Workshop – only 3 people have signed up. Need 8-10 people to have workshop.

Brenda is open to topics for workshops, so let her know any suggestions.

Rosenberg Civic Center – new display TBD

Attack Poverty – TBD

Sugar Land Airport – We will be displaying art there the second half of the year, so 8/1 to 12/31. 45-60 day changeouts. We will do our own labels.

Fort Bend Museum – new display TBD

Events - LaDonna Stubbs – not at meeting.

Fundraising – Open position

We are still looking for Fundraising board member or anyone that would like to help on a committee or in a smaller role or project. Contact Diane Whitmarsh or Brenda Bowman for specific questions about Fundraising.

1.Please contact Donna regarding Bio, must be 5x7 and cost is $25.

2.Spring Show April 11th .

3.Changeout is from after Spring Show on April 11 around 4 p.m. to Tuesday night April 14th. No Wednesday installation anymore. Thursday, April 9 10:00 a.m. to noon. Friday, April 10 is set up. No preview night because LaDonna had conflict in her schedule.

4.Please provide all information about your work, and gallery team will print out all labels.

LSAG – Brenda Bowman

Event is June 11 – 13 and additional demo artists are needed.Also there will be two new awards presented – “People’s Choice” and “Creative Promise” for first time new artist.

Gift Shop - Jules Fuchs

Starting fresh with new displays but may take a few months. Change out is same date as gallery.If you have art to display, you can put it in back room at Third Street.Artwork is priced at $150 or less.Jules will also work to improve window displays.Text Jules with any questions at 917-882-4580.

Debbie Rodriguez – Art show is on the website and volunteers are needed.You can sign up to volunteer by going to the event and clicking on volunteer button. Thursday April 9 from noon to 6.Debbie is working at gallery this Saturday so drop by with questions or email her. Be sure to sign up no later than April 4.Pay invoice when you receive it from Travis on April 4 or April 5. Debbie will not accept payments.Travis will send Debbie a list of who has paid and deadline is April 8. Guys are needed from 9-12 to put up panels.Check website for all instructions.You can bring in your work the day before but label it and let Debbie know.$40 for 3 pieces and $6 for each additional piece.

Marketing – Travis Lairson

He’s setting up a campaign for the Vie Dunn-Har event and also for summer camp.Be sure to check newsletter for a link to schedule a virtual interview with Travis that will be recorded re: how you became artist.These recordings will go on FB, etc.YouTube is up and running but Travis is waiting to have three or four interviews to post before going live with YouTube. He’s also working on another City Beat article and also one on Featured Artist.

Membership – Open position

Rosenberg - Kathy Golden

Traffic was slow at the gallery for the Wine and Beer Walk.Only about 60 people and in prior years had 300.

Blender meeting for RAA is this Thursday and is open for anyone to attend.

City Events:

Wine and Beer Walk – Saturday, March 21 from 12 to 5 p.m.

Cinco de Mayo - Tuesday, May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Fall Fest – Saturday, October 17 from 2 – 6 p.m.

Boogeyman Bash – Saturday, October 31 from 5 – 8 p.m.

Hometown Holiday – Saturday, December 5 from 12 – 8 p.m.

Rosenberg Arts Alliance events:

Blender Meeting at Another Time Soda Fountain, Thursday, March 26 at 5:30 p.m.

Ride to Rosenberg Car Show – Saturday, September 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Holiday Nights – Thursdays, December 10 and 17 from 5 to 8:00 p.m.

Miscellaneous

Debbie Rose asked if you work at the gift shop to be sure to turn off all lights when you leave, even in the restrooms.

Gladys – If you eat in the kitchen, be sure to clean up after yourself.
