ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nola Heidbreder
Nola Heidbreder is a fiber artist and teacher, specializing in Traditional Rug Hooking but teaching all fiber arts. She teaches all over the country as well as in her studio house on The Hill in St. Louis, MO. She has been teaching for over 25 years.
Her work has been shown at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont, Sauder Village in Ohio, Folk Art Museum in New York, Barrens Art Center in New Jersey, Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, Houska Gallery in St. Louis, Soulard Art Gallery in St. Louis, Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion magazine, Rug Hooking Magazine, Primitive Quilt and Design magazine, ATHA magazine and many other publications.
She has coauthored 5 books with her sister Linda Pietz. Knitting Rugs, Crocheting Rugs, Knitted Baskets, Crocheted Baskets, and Hooking the Presidents.
Her hooked portraits of the 44 presidents, created in 2013, won the Sauder Award.
ABOUT THE CLASS
Make Art from Recycled Wool
In this class, you will learn several techniques to use up your scraps of wool. Fun options include Tiny Quilts, fabric-bundled mats, wool appliqué, postage stamp mats, kitchen table mats, and shirred coasters.
The instructor will supply all materials for the 3-day workshop.* Students will receive handouts with instructions on all techniques. All you need to bring is your creativity!
*There is a material fee of $80 due to the instructor, at the event. This amount is NOT included in the registration fee.
