ABOUT THE ARTIST

VIE DUNN-HARR

Vie Dunn-Harr derived much of her early training from the traditional Warren Hunter School of Art and has studied independently in academies abroad. She continues to embrace formalism while stepping out of bounds exploring the endless possibilities creatively.

Her recent travels through Italy and Spain sparked a fascination with religious icons, sacred spaces and moments. While visiting churches and cemeteries, the brilliant works of architects and artigiani inspired Dunn-Harr’s next steps. In these silent and glorious places, spiritual and intriguing conversations emerged leading to her Sanctuary Series. Love and sorrow are portrayed in her paintings, and many of the compositions have floral elements symbolizing the beauty, sensuality, and fragility of life. Dunn-Harr’s creative process and paintings are likened to a diary as she walks through life . . .

Dunn-Harr has also taught art classes and creative workshops for most of her career, and she enjoys interaction and collaborating with other artists.

A Contemporary Realist, Dunn-Harr’s career as a painter/artist spans 50+ years.

ABOUT THE CLASS

ACRYLIC EXPEDITION

Like an expedition, participants will immerse themselves into unfamiliar territory and be challenged creatively.

Acrylics offer an exhilarating way to trust the creative process and discover new possibilities artistically.

In this workshop Vie will introduce movement and abstraction as the foundation of any subject matter. She will share how to superimpose and weave realism into the original abstract expressions using design elements in the process. Some may choose to work solely abstractly.

Vie will do group demos and work individually with each participant to encourage and support their unique artistic voice and style. Collaboration and critiques as a group will be informative and beneficial.
